Sort Group has been shortlisted for two accolades at the Investors in People (IIP) Awards 2025.

The company is a finalist for Leader of the Year, recognising the leadership of managing director Keith Ahmed (pictured), and for the Learning & Development award (up to 499 employees), which celebrates Sort Group’s strategic focus on people development.

Ahmed’s nomination reflects his progression through the business since joining in 2018 and the initiatives he has introduced.

Judges said: “It was great to read about Keith’s progression through the business and some of the initiatives he has introduced.

“The video of employee testimonials demonstrated the empathetic and engaging style adopted by Keith and valued by staff.”

Sort Group’s shortlisting in the Learning and Development category highlights its efforts to tackle recruitment challenges in the sector after the pandemic.

Judges commented: “This is a good example of an organisation taking a very proactive approach to developing talent in the face of a significant recruitment challenge. Its robust L&D strategy underpins the organisational strategy and has driven real results.”

These nominations follow Sort Group’s achievement of Investors in People Gold accreditation earlier this year, placing the business among the top 17% of IIP-accredited organisations in the UK.

Commenting on the nominations, Ahmed said: “To be named a finalist in two categories for the IIP Awards, so soon after achieving our IIP Gold accreditation is a tremendous honour.

“This recognition is a real testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire team. At Sort Group, we are dedicated to fostering a culture that puts growth, empathy, and learning at the heart of everything we do – and it’s fantastic to see those values recognised on a national stage.”

The winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at Old Billingsgate, London, on 12th November.
