Channel 4 opens applications for its ‘Content Creatives’ training programme
Anyone over 18 living in Yorkshire or Greater Manchester, or able to commute, can apply and the deadline for applications is 29th August at 5pm.
Channel 4 has opened applications for its ‘Content Creatives’ scheme, which will give at least 10 young people from underrepresented backgrounds in the North a route into the creative digital industries.
The scheme marks its fifth year and will run for 16 weeks, with full pay for all trainees.
Trainees will complete four weeks of training, then move onto a 10-week work placement with one of Channel 4’s creative agency partners in Leeds or Manchester, or with Channel 4’s digital content studio, 4Studio, based in Leeds.
Each week on placement, trainees will also attend an extra day of training.
SharpFutures will lead the training, covering production techniques, storytelling and pitching.
Trainees will also build their creative and technical skills during their placements.
This year, Channel 4 has added a dedicated week of employability training at the end of the course to help trainees get ready for work.
The scheme is part of Channel 4’s nationwide 4Skills training and development strategy, which focuses on helping people from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds move into broadcast and creative industries.
