University of Staffordshire offers fully funded training opportunities workers in Stoke

University of Staffordshire is offering fully funded training to workers in Stoke-on-Trent after securing more funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) through Stoke-on-Trent City Council. 

The university will run another year of short courses, masterclasses and microcredentials.

Courses are open to anyone in Stoke-on-Trent aged 18 and over who is in paid or unpaid work, self-employed, on a Government-supported training programme or on maternity or paternity leave. 

The aim is to help people gain new skills they can use at work.

Professor Martin Jones, vice-chancellor and chief executive at University of Staffordshire, said: “We are excited to be bringing even more training opportunities to support local employers and help to upskill the city’s workforce. 

“Hundreds of workers have already benefited from the skills and knowledge gained through this initiative and we look forward to helping even more people in Stoke-on-Trent to develop themselves and progress in their chosen careers.”

Upcoming courses include social media and artificial intelligence (AI), data analysis and an introduction to Chat GPT. 

There will also be sessions on empowering neurodiverse talent, performing under pressure, and leadership and team dynamics.
